A is for… Athletes’ Village

Housing almost 10,000 athletes is certainly no easy feat, yet questions should be asked as to why 19 of the 31 buildings in the athletes’ village hadn’t passed their safety tests ahead of the teams arriving in Rio. Water leaks, gas leaks and electrical fires have been just a handful of the reported teething problems, leading some of the teams to boycott their digs. Stories of thefts of personal items from the rooms can only be piling on the misery and stress in the camp, but remember – these athletes are the real deal and will be focused on not letting anything interfere with their training and preparation.
